She appeared to have been **** for several hours, as Samantha got up she saw dead bodies of varying age litter the floor, flesh ripped off the bone. Much of the floor was covered in pieces of flesh and pools of blood, Samantha had to hold back vomiting due to the stench. Looking around Sam had spotted a pack of zombie’s, about five in total, slowly ambling their way towards her. She was unsure of whether they noticed her or not but Sam wasn’t going to take the risk and chose to look for a place to hide.

Dodging out of the zombie’s line of vision Sam had noticed several things about them; firstly they didn’t seem to act like the other zombie’s she had encountered so far, instead of roaming around without any sense of direction these zombie’s seemed to have an awareness of their surroundings. They weren’t stumbling over anything, in fact they seemed to actually move out of the way of anything that would trip them up. Secondly they didn’t look like other zombie’s. Sure, they looked dead but the only thing to give that away was a slight greyness to their skin. There didn’t seem to be any form of decomposition happening. Of course from her distance this could simply be because she was too far away from them to notice. And thirdly they seemed to act as if one was the leader and the others its lackeys.

Eventually Samantha came to a delicatessen, which appeared to be in a pretty good condition. Quickly making her way into it she chose to hide behind the counter, though she looked over it to keep an eye on the zombie’s to see if there was anything else of note.

“Hopefully I can find a wi-fi spot,” She thought to herself as she mentally analysed the zombie’s. “I can then post my findings in the hopes that others read it.” Though soon her curiosity got the better of her and she decided that to get a better understanding on the zombie’s she needed a closer inspection of them.

Stopping just short of the entrance she hid behind an overturned table and took her laptop out of her bag. After powering it up she furiously typed up all that she had observed, noting the differences between these zombie’s and the others that had devastated the mall. During her excitement Samantha had let her guard drop and whilst shifting herself into a more comfortable position she kicked a nearby glass. It skidded across the floor and smashed against the door frame. The noise was loud enough to get the attention of the zombie’s and they rushed towards the delicatessen, not their normal shambling gait, instead it was more like how a pack of wolves would coordinate their attack on their prey, albeit with a slight limp.
