Chapter 3 by LezzyLucy LezzyLucy

Give up on resisting the books corruption?

Continue Resisting

"Your total will be $32.18," I repeated to the lusty redhead, making it clear that I was turning her down. I wish I could take her up on her offer, but I was working and I was not going to let this book tempt me into doing something stupid. Instead I made a compromise by writing my name and number at the bottom of her receipt with a note telling her to try again when I got off at 3. She wasn't happy about being turned down but she didn't seem like she was going to turn down my proposition either. She got her wallet out of her purse and paid for her books before leaving me alone in the store again.

As soon as she stepped out the door, I made a dash for the back exit with the book in hand. In the early morning light, I could see there was no one around. Running through ideas in my head of how to get rid of this thing, I came up with several options. I could throw the book in the dumpster and let it get carried off to God knows where, hopefully to a landfill. Secondly, I could leave it in the dirty book section of the store. It was far enough in the back that I don't think it would be able to influence me and maybe some horny sap would buy it and take it off our hands. My other two ideas were more focused on destroying the book for good. I had a book of matches with my stuff back inside. I could light it on fire in the back alley and no one would ever know. Lastly, my only other idea was to drown the book. I've been around books my whole life and I knew that water was just as effective at ruining a book as fire. Standing out behind the store, I knew I didn't have time to stand here thinking up new ideas, in case Chloe caught me. Making my decision, I gripped the book firmly and set my mind to my plan. This book would not be controlling me today.

How do I try getting rid of the book?
