Cont.

"I figured I would drive, no need to waste your gas in your big truck with the prices like they are." She says quietly as she slips into the driver side, unlocking my side so I can follow suite. Closing my door, I slip on my seatbelt as she started the car. I look out the window, my mind rolling through the events of the night. Thankfully, she left me to my thoughts and I didn't have to answer any questions, my mind being brought back to the present when she shut off the car and reached over, patting my arm to signal our arrival at her home. I let out a sigh as I climb out, looking up at the small but homely little farm house she's always called home. Her parents quit the farming business when they reached their 50s, retiring back to a home they built on the other corner of the 150 acres of land that's been in their family for generations and generations, ever sense her great great grandpa brought his family west looking for a new start after moving to America from Ireland. She hooks her arm around mine, leading me gently as she aims us to the front door and into the living room. I'm led over to the couch and pushed down, a beer likewise into my hand before she nestles into the other corner, her feet drawn up and feet tucked under her body. "So spill it mister..." Her voice almost startles me, our stretch of silence broken in the cooler summer air. "Hmm...what do you mean?" I ask, taking a sip from my bottle as try to avoid looking her in her eyes. "We might not have held a conversation for a long time but I'm still a woman, I can tell when a man has something on his mind and his heart is troubled dork." She says, a frown on her lips.
