Chapter 4 by Blackhand Blackhand

What is Sean's relationship to Melissa like?

Constant Squabling

Melissa walked down next to Sean and plopped down in the seat next to him. The bus got rolling moments later.

"You're the one helping out at the laundromat after school today, right?" She asked. Their mother made most of the family's money by running a small laundromat in a strip mall. It was not the most lucrative business.

"Why me?"

"Because I have to study for my AP Exams." She huffed.

"They're not for weeks." Sean scowled. Was she really trying to push this off on him. "And it's your turn."

"And if I put them off, just because I have weeks, I'm going to get a bad score."

Then she finished with her most powerful option.

"Besides, Mom will agree with me."

"Of course, she will." Sean rolled his eyes, but knew she wasn't bluffing.

"One of us has to actually get a scholarship." She said in a sing song voice. The implications of the statement were clear.

"Uh huh." Sean grunted. He knew he'd lost this one. Melissa basically always used the fact that she was more successful then him to get special privileges at home. The damnest thing was the fact it actually worked.
