Clara visits the old chapel just before nightfall

Ursula had instructed Clara not to wear anything she was worried about getting dirty. She'd also said not to come too late or people would see her enter. The high priestess had taken these pieces of advice together to mean that she needed to wear a disposable disguise... as such, she'd come dressed in the nun habit from her early days, black with a heavy hood, white wimple, and long hem. The only part she kept from her traditional garb was the amulet she wore... if that came off, people would see her angel wings and halo. In a sense, that would be a fine disguise element, since no one would know to associate them with her... but it would be quite a conversation topic as well.

With a worried expression, she ascended the crumbling steps up to the abandoned first chapel, which she knew to be in quite a state of disrepair. It was hardly the type of place where anyone should be doing anything sexy... But maybe that was the reason that it was perfect for people hoping to go anonymous, to ease into the new sexual routines of the Church of Merridan.

Still, it felt sacrilegious to plan on doing anything sexual in a house of Geod, abandoned or otherwise. Maybe... it wouldn't be anything too sexual in nature? After all... it was Ursula suggesting it. It was pretty hard to imagine that woman doing anything sinful, other than judging people, in Clara's experience...

Whenever she doubted herself, she simply reminded herself that it was for the sake of the church... and just as importantly, reminding the people of Merridan who'd brought them to the dance. The church still had a few tricks up its sleeve!

Clara was getting close to her destination... so close that anyone who saw her would certainly realize where she was headed.
