Christmas Eve

Spencer spent most of Christmas Eve trying to keep up with Dani in the kitchen. Whilst he wasn't sure they needed so much food, Dani convinced him that they'd have at least a few days worth of leftovers. Besides that, Spencer was delighted to see Danielle so happy and he couldn't deny that her cooking had been a solid improvement over his own.

When Dani heard the doorbell rang, she rushed to the door and opened it, allowing her to give them overenthusiastic hugs before letting them inside.

"Hey Spencer." Andy said as he moved to the Christmas tree to put down the bag of presents he'd brought.

"Hey guys."

"Lovely place." Angela said.

"Yeah, very nice." Chris added as he tried to calculate the exact value of the place. "So how are you?"

"Good, yeah." Spencer said.

"Get up to much dear?" Angela asked.

"Just cooking mainly."

"That's good. Hope there's plenty of food."

"Don't worry we'll have plenty for tonight, and tomorrow, and the next day." Dan interjected.

Chris let out a proud smile. "See, I taught my kids to save for the future."

"So you hungry now?"

"I think we can wait. How about we do presents now?"

"Sure."

Everyone sat down on the couch, where Spencer grabbed a present for Amy. She looked to Spencer who said "Now this is your main Christmas present."

"Oh, okay." Amy said. Her hands rapidly tore the wrapping open, to reveal the new camera Spencer had bought her. "Oh my God. Dad."

Before he could ask his daughter how much she liked the present, she gave Spencer a vice-like hug.

"Thanks Dad."

"Now you just have to take photos of the night."

Despite an eye-roll, Amy was happy to take photos as the adults exchanged **** before she pocketed money from both Andy and Chris. Next, the group sat down at the dining table, where they ate an indulgent dinner. Amy continued to play with her camera as the adults talked. Whilst Spencer found the night easy going, he couldn't help but think of tomorrow with Kirstin's parents coming around. What would they think of Danielle? How will they cope with him being with another woman? Will they be concerned with how quickly she's moved in? The questions continued to plague Spencer's mind deep into his sleep.
