Cheerleaders

As a senior in high school, Alexa was finally invited to the cheerleaders’ annual slumber party. Alexa gladly accepted as she felt like she was finally getting acknowledged by the popular girls in school.

Alexa rang the doorbell and Isabel answered the door. “Hey, Lexi,” Isabel said. “Come on in.”

Alexa entered and saw all of the cheerleaders already there. “Hello,” Alexa said shyly.

“Go set your bag down over there,” Isabel said as she gestured to the area where all the other bags were.

Alexa nodded and plopped hers down.

She then joined the others as they all sat down in the family room. “Hey, Lexi,” Kelsey said. “I’m so glad you could make it.”

“Thank you,” Alexa said. “I’m excited. This is my first sleepover.”

“Wait, really?” Chloe said. “This is your first? Why didn’t you have one when you were younger?”

Alexa blushed. “My mom wouldn’t let me.”

“Ah, I see,” Heather said. “Well, don’t worry, we’ll show you the best sleepover you can ever ask for.”

Alexa smiled as she had a secret crush on Heather but never admitted it. “So what are we going to do first?”
