You pull up the text. It’s from a number you don’t recognize, besides the local area code, which is the same as your hometown. Whoever they are, they probably live near your high school.

The only Savannah you knew personally was a hot blonde bombshell from high school. She had supermodel looks freshman year, and while she was nice and a little flirty to you the few times you interacted, beyond that she didn’t give you a second thought. It’s strange that she has your number now, but she could have gotten that from any number of people. What’s stranger is that she’s at this university with you, reaching out like this.

She was hot, and she’s seeking you out now, so it may be worth responding to her at some point. You save her number as a new contact.

You look up and see the librarian still talking with that guy. Maybe there’s time to read one more text message, the one from your old friend… or maybe you need to let the librarian know that you don’t want to stand in line forever.
