Check on his car

Billy goes outside to his bike, which he uses to get to the mechanics.

The bike ride over is grueling, the hot sun is beating down on him, and the route from his house to the mechanics is all uphill.

When he gets there he sees his car sitting in the shop. He walks up to the mechanic, to see what’s going on. His car’s engine had been having troubles for months, and he had finally taken it to the shop.

“I definitely won’t have it done by tonight.” The mechanic shrugs, not even apologetic.

Billy sighs, biking home. When he gets there its almost 5, and he’s super sweaty. He gets in the shower, and when he gets out he realizes he’ll have to bike to Jackie’s house, which is super far away.

He realizes his only chance of actually going to the party will be if he gets a ride.
