Chapter 9: Good morning
The next morning I woke up and the pain in my throat disappeared. I pull my leg out of bed and try standing on it. To my surprise, it hurts less than the last time I did it. Carefully and slowly I walk around the room. Normally it would take months to get back on your feet doctors had said, but here I was slowly walking again. Could it have to do something with my powers? I needed to get to the bottom of this. I needed to know what had happened, and more importantly what exactly it is that I can do.
I sat back down in my wheelchair because it was still exhausting to walk, even if it hurts a lot less and I rolled into the dining room. My mother was in the kitchen and Lizzy was sitting down at the breakfast table eating some cornflakes.
“Morning,” I said.
“Good morning honey.” My mother replied.
“Sup” Lizzy said, not looking up from the notebook she was writing in.
I stared at my sister, remembering the previous night. When I went back to bed, I had for some time pictured my sister pushing a burning candle in her pussy for money. Constantly wondering if it was wrong to think that. But the thought of it was also extremely hot. For now, I pushed it out of my mind. I rolled towards the table and sat across Lizzy who looked up at me. Our eyes crossed each other and I knew she thought back to last night as well.
“What you writing about?” I asked.
“Nothing” Was all that Lizzy responded.
“That is a lot of words to describe nothing,” I said teasingly.
“If you must now, I’m writing a story.”
“A story, nice. What is it about?”
Lizzy turned a little red and looked down.
“Nothing I said that already, it’s just practice for school this week, we need to wright our own theatre scenes.”
“Well if you wright about nothing, it becomes something, so nothing can only be nothing if it’s not defined,” I said.
My sister looks up again with disbelief in her eyes.
“Just shut up about it will you.”
“Lizzy, language.” My mother replied and looked at me. “What do you want for breakfast dear.”
“Just toast with butter is okay. I’m not that hungry.”
“If you say so.” My mother replied and started to prepare my toast. “Oh by the way…” She started, “I need to go downtown for a meeting in an hour or so, so you will have the house for your selves.”
“A meeting on a Sunday?” I reply.
My mother sighs, well this model is only available today, so I have to.”
“Actually, Johnathan will be all alone then, because I’m going to Daisy this afternoon to rehearse some scene’s,” Lizzy said.
“Can’t Daisy come here, someone needs to be here with Johnathan.”
Lizzy stares in disbelief at her mother.
“Mom,” I said. “I’m two years older than Lizzy, I can take care of myself.”
“But you’re in a wheelchair.”
“There are loads of people in wheelchairs mom,” Lizzy said. “They all do fine.”
“Yes,” I replied, “Besides, I wanted to go to the library today, maybe you could drop me off there.
“The library?” My mom asked curious. Not that I blame her, I wasn’t crazy about books before my accident.
“Yes,” I said. “Believe it or not, but there aren’t many options to do when sitting in a wheelchair, so I thought why not go to the library and read something, means I’m getting out of the house as well.”
“Fine then.” My mother replied. “But you need to be ready in 60 minutes.”
And with that said, I went on my way to the library, trying to find out what ia wrong, or no what is so right with me.
