Ch 4: Is there something in my eye?

They both re-enter the establishment and Samrah looked remorsefully at the Alchemist trying to take out the shards of the broken tile. It seemed that the floor was made out of these as he figured those lines weren't for design, they were individual pieces of smooth marble, or whatever material those were made of. The Alchemist looked up to him and gave a friendly smile. "Well, well, well. Our queen actually brought him back instead huh? I guess you weren't as mad at him as you thought you were." He said, eliciting a blush from the woman. "It wasn't like that. He wanted to walk the entire three miles of the road towards the city, he's absolutely crazy. He wouldn't last there ten minutes before the cold freezes him." She explained to him. Samrah though squatted down as well and began to help the alchemist with his work...

"I do apologize for what transpired earlier... I didn't mean to raise my voice to you, it seems there was a misunderstanding from my part. And of course I am also apologizing for the, floor part I broke." Samrah said as he removes the pieces and shards of the tile and places them in a box right next to it. "Nah, it's all good... by the way, we missed the uhm... pleasantries? Yah that's what they call introductions right? My name is Steve by the way." The alchemist offered his hand to Samrah and he took, and shook it firmly. "It is my great pleasure to meet such a talented alchemist like you. Or is it apothecary that you do?" Samrah asked... Steve didn't seem to know what that was... "Apothe-what now?".

"I'm pretty sure those two have differences. Apothecaries deal with herbs and brewing things and I think Alchemists deal with chemicals and well... potions? I just know there's a difference but I'm not entirely sure about it." The woman stated. Samrah nodded thoughtfully at the fact. "I am not knowledgeable in those fields so, I may not know which one is which. But at least you have given me an idea of it. Though as Steve had said, we did miss the pleasantries. I am Samrah Adra'el. Highest Mage Priest of the Central South Lands of the Andu'in Kingdom. Also one of the selected few heroes of the Kingdom of Last. Though, there are currently a great amount of things that confuse me currently. As to where I am, how long I have slept in the encasing and as to what happened to the world. That among many..." Samrah explained, he appeared to be steadfast at his explanation but, the woman sensed something uncertain inside him though didn't pry. She still didn't believe anything he said but, for some reason, it sounded like he believed in himself.

"That's pretty cool dude. Highest Priest Mage? Is that a thing? What exactly do you do?" Steve said as he begins to place some sort of a white paste on the now concrete floor, spreading it evenly among the surface. "First off, I fulfill my duties as a priest. Mainly the blessings, preaching and the teaching of those who are willing to learn of the ways of Reih'na. Though as a mage, I also teach light magic mostly, elemental magics are also within my area of expertise and I am personally fond of Earth magic." He says as he watched Steve place another tile on the concrete covering up the paste, perhaps it is an adhesive material that sticks when dries... Steve pressed on the tile and a small amount of paste squeezes through the sides and he simply wiped them clean with a rag. "That's pretty cool. Haha, if only magic was real, I'd probably be a video game mage. I'd be like, cheating my way through everything." Samrah looked confused, but didn't press on the matter, though he did look back at the woman. "I did forgot to ask you of your name, may I have the honor of knowing it?" Samrah said, the woman only stared at him for a second before she immediately caught herself and averted her eyes.

"You can call me Anne..." She simply stated, Samrah smiled at the fitting name, she does look like an Anne. "That's a wonderful name... a very fitting one for a kind yet reserved person as you are." He complimented, only making her blush a bit more. "Woah, dang... ain't seen her like that before. Well, can't help it, you are one handy looking one. You look like a complete elf too, tall and pretty face for a guy." Steve said, I looked back at him. "But I am an elf..." He as a matter of fact is, but for some reason they didn't seem to believe it. "Yeah, it's a pretty good one, they look so real. At first thought you were wearing them but I think those are implants..." Steve mused as he inspects Samrah's ears.

"Yeah, no doubt you're so into it... to even spend money just to have longer ears... I bet those are contact lenses too..." She scoffed... though attracted to the weird person, she seems to still be upset with him. "What are contact lenses?" Samrah was getting more confused by this point. "Oh seriously!? Okay I've had enough... I'm just going to get ready, get my stuff, then you're going back to the city with me, I'm dropping you off and that's it okay?" She said and stormed out from the room and into another one going further into the establishment. Samrah didn't know what was happening, he turned a confused look at Steve who just shrugged it. "Dude, maybe there are times when you should drop the act... you can already see she's pretty mad at you right now..." Steve calmly said, though he didn't seem to be his usual self, he seemed to be growing slightly frustrated too... I sighed.

"There is no act Steve. I do not know why you two find me strange and, saying these contact lenses and uhm, videos. You two say a lot of new things to me, I try my best to understand your culture but, I don't really know why you two cannot accept me. I misunderstand a lot of things in this place, but you two don't seem to understand me either. I don't know 'why' I am so strange and different? I don't understand!" Samrah exlaimed... Steve was dumb founded. He just stared at Samrah for a few seconds before shaking his head in denial... "You... you really believe what you say don't you?" He started. "Dude, please stop... there is no magic, you're not some mage priest, there is no such place as the Southern, Central, Anduin Kingom, I am not an alchemist, I'm a store guy, and there's no such thing as an elf..." Steve said, trying to convince his seemingly deluded companion. Samrah couldn't believe what he was saying... just what has happened this past few moments he's been asleep? He tempted to ask before Anne came out from the door she came into a few minutes ago and quickly stepped towards Steve and then faced Samrah. "Could you excuse us for a moment? You can wait outside, I'll be with you after I talk to him." Anne said as Samrah nods slowly, still unable to believe what he just heard... he simply took his staff once more and exited the building, just standing there outside, looking at the ground and the sunset... looking absolutely stupid.

"So? Did he break it yet?" Anne asked Steve who stood up to face her. Shaking his head... he replied, "No. Please, be careful with this guy. It's like he really thinks he's some mage priest elf dude from some fantasy land. I'm all about that stuff you know? But damn, this guy is next level." He explained... "Don't worry, I'm taking him to a hospital right as I drop him off... I'll just tell him to go there, and THEN he'll crack it. Start telling the truth... this guy pisses me off the most." She said as she puts on her jacket and begins to leave... "But I'm not heartless enough to let this guy freeze to **** outside..." Said as she opens the door but only for Steve to call out to her. "Anne, you're a good person, thanks for giving me your job... I hope good things happen to you man... I hope you help this guy." He said, Anne only nodded before she exited the establishment and began to walk up to Samrah.

"Come on, let's go... I'm taking you to the city." Anne said, and before he could reply or ask a question, she just turned around and walk away... he's got some time to ask her all the questions he so wanted to ask. He follows Anne and finally, the sun sets to the horizon and the hand of the clock hits 6. The first night after his slumber began. And in some distance... something also awoke from their slumber.
