Rachel was confused by the appearance of her mums name on the screen, why on earth was she calling. Wanting to know more she eased the headphones off and closed the laptop screen before heading towards the door. After taking a calming breath Rachel slid the phone back into her pocket before slowly opening the door.

The usually brightly lit hallway was pitch black, a chill ran down Rachel's spine as she eased her hand out into the darkness and flicked the nearby switch. When nothing happened another chill ran down her spine. Sliding the phone from her pocket she instinctively unlocked it with her thumb before tapping on the torch icon.

A small beam of light cut through the inky black darkness before her eyes. Feeling uneasy she stepped out of her room and into the corridor.
