Chapter 3

So, what trouble have you stumbled into?

Building Fire

Almost all the buildings in Millennium City are fire proof.

That's fine, but while the BUILDINGS may be non-flammable, their CONTENTS aren't!

You are flying over the lower west side, your designated patrol area, when you spot smoke pouring out of a fourth story window, and zoom in with your optics to make sure this is something you need to help with as opposed to an idiot who left bacon on the stove too long.

It's not bacon, unless the pan was an inch deep in grease and it's caught the whole kitchen on fire! The thermal on that smoke is getting perilously close to flash-over, and you dive for the window at speeds normally associated with fighter jets!

"Call Fire!" You say and there is a dial tone then dispatch comes online. "I need a ladder truck at my target coordinates ASAP!" You call into the com, as you smash through the sliding window and switch to ambient x-ray scanning with a neural interface command. There, in the next room! Two human outlines!

You smack open the door and blow out the window with a blast from your gauntlet, picking up the two **** victims of smoke inhalation and jump to safety your boot jets going into overdrive as you plummet precipitously towards the ground, only seconds later hearing the muffled boom from above as the apartment goes up in flash-over. There is a screaming whine as the jets struggle to keep you from hitting the pavement so hard it will break the bones of the two women you are carrying but you alight with only a bruising jar and set them gently on the sidewalk. "Optics." You command the suit and it switches back to normal vision.

The two women you have just rescued are not unattractive, blond sisters by the look of them, both in their nightgowns, matching red and black satin numbers which leave little to the imagination other than if they have freckles on their bodies as well as faces, but you don't have time to ogle, much as the BUILDINGS may be fire proof once the flames reach flash-over it can start a chain reaction where the contents of one apartment burn so hot the heat passes through the floor of the apartment above and set's IT on fire, and the same with the walls to either side, and so on and so on, gutting the whole building and putting hundreds of people at risk!

The only question is: How can you battle the blaze without spreading the flames?
