Kaitlyn’s eyes flutter open as I scoop her up. She has been half napping for a few minutes while I put on some sweatpants and drank a glass of water. Normally I would spend time providing some aftercare, cleaning her up and making sure she is okay. I want to do it, too. But knowing Seth is fretting himself sick, I want to twist the knife a little.

Kaitlyn wraps her arms around my neck as I carry her to the door. She abruptly kisses my cheek so I stop, and kiss her back, quickly consumed by the passion transmitted through her lips. If I had anything left in the tank, I’d be bringing her straight back to bed. She closes her eyes and rests her head against me, not helping me to understand what the kiss meant.

I carry her naked and spent body to the door of her apartment and knock. Seth opens it immediately, stinking with anguish.

“Sorry to drop her off like this, mate. She’s fine, just wiped out... and I have to get up early in the morning. Jesus... I think I’m bleeding. What a wild fuck... You really should come over to help me double-team her.”

Seth’s jaw is so tight that I expect to get punched, but he can’t do it while I’m carrying his wife.

“Anyway... can I trust you will get her to bed alright?” I slowly lower feet to the ground and shift her to lean into him. She wraps an arm over him and slumps, whispering to him. I’ve never seen a man look so angry and caged before. I hop back to my unit and lock the door behind me.
