Mike was usually a student who prides in paying attention in class. But today listening to miss Monica go over the order of business made it all so boring. As she droned on you began to daydream about your past in high school...

You're in the school lockerroom taking out some of your books. . *Sigh* It's valentines day... The worst day of the year. You look around and see girls in every direction flocking around in groups.

'Why do they always have to move in packs? Why can't I ever get one alone? Not like it matters... It's not like they would even talk to me if I tried.'

You take out a love letter meant for your crush. Mom had said that you should just grow a pair of balls and approach her. Such an easy thing to say for a woman. They never make the first move but mom had insisted on it. Something about some women enjoyed the attention or a guy havinfhcourage to approach them.

And there she is, Angela. A voluptous young girl with long blond hair and a slender figure is sitting on the ground gathering her belongings which she must have dropped accidentally near the lockerroom exit.

You steadied yourself as this could be your chance to ask her put. After all, if you could try and help her get her things you could at least talk to her and then perhaps slip the letter to her. It's perfect!

'If only.' You think shaking your head. You interrupted your daydream as Miss Monica looked up from her presentation to ask the class if they had seen ironies of gender roles in society. Lady luck must have been smiling on you as you had an idea.

Raising your hand you volunteered an example. "Would needle work count?"

"Yes Mr. Oxmaul. The ability to make clothes while considered to be a woman's job is useful in other applications. For instance British Rugby or American football players do kitting or the equivalent to help develop finger strength and dexterity for their games. Anyone else?"

Sighing you relax as she moves around the room. As you did so your mind began to drift back to the dream. On how the events unfolded. That brought up the following situation you had yourself in that day...

Nervously you had walked up to Angela. As you were about to announce yourself Billy, a fellow schoolmate of yours bumped into you, causing you to drop your letter on the ground. He had apologized and reach to pick up the letter when your crush looked and saw what what happened.

Out of context she squealed at the sight of you and Billy. Angela immediately encouraged Billy to read it before you can even protest. ''Oh my God, is that a love letter? Did Mike write you a love letter?''

What's even worse is the fact your love letter was very unspecified making it believable that you could have written it for Billy. You attempted to babble that it wasn't for him but he and your crush could hear none if it. In fact, Angela starts giggling as she spoils how she has fantasized about two guys making out. She encourages Billy and you to kiss in front of her. The weird thing is, Billy seems to be going for it. He blushes as he pouts his lips and leans into you.

Without anymore thinking, you flee the scene. But that one sentence of your crush will haunt you for the rest of your high school years. The words that Angela spoke that broke you and sent you fleeing.

''I love gay people.''

Hello readers from beyond the screen, it's Thrawn34t! I thought I would pop in and say a few words about my involvement in A new city a new life.

As you may have noticed I have taken liberties with past chapters and used Lonelysubs' text in my own. This is intentional to create similarities between the chapters that are separated buy choices yet are distinctly off to various degrees depending on distance from when they appear. His work is his own after all.

This is my main storyline and will be updated the most on my end. Yes I have gone overboard with branches, but each has its flavor. Like by jolly old pal Lonelysubs I'm a bit of a slow build but i do enjoy a faster approach now and then.

In any event I have a story paned out that is different than the one Lonelysubs got. I have a few ideas on where he'll go as he might mine but I'm keeping quite. I can't wait to see what he'll do next.
