Beth decides to help Willow get on Mackenzie

The door swung open to reveal a beaming Mackenzie, still clad only in a towel. "Hi Willow - and hi, Beth!" she said cheerfully. "I see you've met my roommate! Don't worry, she normally wears more clothes than this."

Willow stared at her with undisguised hatred, the effectiveness of which was somewhat undermined by her nudity and cringing posture. "Get out of my way, Mackenzie," she said through gritted teeth.

Mackenzie had had her fun. Stepping aside, she leaned against the doorframe to allow Willow to enter. "No hard feelings, Will. Just a little fun. It's not like you wouldn't think this was hilarious if it had happened to me."

Beth had been silent throughout this exchange, but as she cast her one last timid glance before rushing inside, Willow saw that she was staring at Mackenzie with an odd look in her eye. Her mouth was smiling, but her eyes were...calculating.

Ever since her humiliation at the hands of her fellow teenagers, Beth had hated bullies. Being **** to run through campus naked had instilled in her a sympathy for underdogs, and a deep dislike for the kinds of girls who got off on embarrassing other people. Admittedly Beth didn't know Willow particularly well, but she seemed cute, and as far as Beth knew she hadn't done anything to deserve being locked out of her room with no clothes on.

In other words, Beth was thinking about bringing a little karma to bear.
