Chapter 3 by MissAshleyJ MissAshleyJ

Why was her boss so dismissive?

Because of how their society view men even less

Mitsu walked into her apartment to the smell of dinner.

She walked into the kitchen to see her brother putting the finishing touches.

He turned and looked at her.

“Welcome home Onnai-sama”. He said. He got down on his knees and bowed completely to the ground.

“Get up Aki, I told you not to do that a million time.”

“Onnai-sama, I do not wish to dishonor our mother’s memory.”

Mitsu sighed. It had been three years since the police showed up at her doorstep. Her mother, in a rage over having been let go from her job, had set their house on fire. Their father, Aki, and Ali’s twin brother Gen were inside. She had ordered them to sit there and die with her and they were doing exactly as they were told, as they had been raised.

Mitsu’s community where she grew up was very old school. Moving to Tokyo had been quite the shock, even for the liberal minded Mitsu. The first time she saw a man in western clothes, she couldn’t help be stare.

Japanese city boys had more freedom than their country dwelling counterparts. The exposure to the outside world tends to do that to a person. Her apartment was on the subway line to airport, so she saw foreign business women and tourists all the time.

Aki has somehow survived the fire that killed the rest of the family. The crime scene people said he happened to have been sitting in just the right place that the building collapsed around him.

Mitsu was the only family he had left, so the police shipped him to her.

As she was now the head of the family, her little brother obeyed her without question.

“Come on, Aki, the stove is on…” Mitsu yelled. “Get up… I’m not mother. I’m nothing like her. I’m never going to treat you the way she did, so stop it!”

“Yes, Onne-sama” Aki said as he stood and returned to cooking.

“I have got to find that boy a wife…” she muttered “get him out of my hair…”

Dinner time?
