Be sensible

You decide to take your sturdy shorts, t-shirt, and an extra jumper, despite the forecast of fine weather. Oh, and also your drop-dead sexy thermals. The orange and green stripes of the leggings go nicely with the dusty brown of your boots.

Yeah right.

You just have to hope Olivia gets more attracted to practicality than the latest fashions.

You pack some chocolate (a sure-fire snack), some apples, crackers, and cheese. Also 3 drink bottles, you hope they'll be enough.

After a long consideration, you decide to leave your GPS behind, after all, Olivia claims to know the area like the back of her hand. You do decide to take the map though, just in case you get separated from the back of Olivia's hand.

Excitedly you get into your car and head for the start of the trail.

You're five minutes early, but as you pull into the carpark you recognise Olivia, she seems to recognise you too and walks towards you.

She waves and smiles, and you can't help but smile and wave in return.

Her profile pictures didn't lie, she's very good looking. She is a little taller than you expected, not that that's a problem, you're quite tall yourself.

"Nice leggings!" Olivia laughs, looking down. That's when you realise she's also wearing orange and green striped leggings. You burst out laughing!

"I was considering bringing my tux, but I thought it might get a bit hot"

The connection with Olivia is instant, helped in part by the matching leggings. What are the chances?

"So show me where we're going first?" you say, taking Olivia's hand and looking at it.

She looks at you confused. You were meaning to make a joke on how she knew the area like the back of her hand, but she's probably forgotten she mentioned that. Oh well, not everything has to go smoothly on the first date.

She does have a nice hand though, warm, soft skin, nails cut short.

The moment has passed for you to explain the joke, so you just take out your map and open it up.

Olivia starts to point out some interesting locations.

"This peak here has amazing views, the stream winding through this valley is lovely, and the forest on this spur is lovely. That's where I built most of my huts, it's not too far away either."

"Well, they all sound great.."

"Oh, hang on, you were referring to me knowing the area like the back of my hand just then!" Olivia bursts out laughing.

You laugh too, a little nervously.
