Chapter 28
by Acorn142
What does he do, and what attitude should he take?
Be compliant and look for an opportunity
Duncan realizes it is pointless at this stage to resist. Cassandra evidently has control over him that he has not even begun to understand. He decides he must simply look for an opportunity to escape from her power, and the best way to do that is to feign compliance with her orders. Perhaps he will get lucky, and she will drop her guard.
Cassandra sees that he has finished getting dressed and says, “You might as well come and get some breakfast.”
Duncan steps toward the table and shudders when he sees the platter of meat, realizing that it is the remnants of a human. Cassandra notices his discomfort and laughs sardonically. “What’s the matter? Can’t quite stomach the thought of eating a fellow member of your species? That’s quite all right; we’d much rather keep the meat for ourselves, anyway.” She points Duncan toward a pot of what appears to be oatmeal. Gratefully, he scoops some into a bowl.
As he does so, Gladys steps behind him and runs her hand appraisingly over his ass. “You know, I do miss the thrill of the hunt. Don’t get me wrong, Cassandra. You keep your father and me well fed, but I used to be quite adept at seducing the most handsome of studs, and I always enjoyed the thrill of the capture and the conquest.” She gives Duncan’s ass a sharp squeeze, causing him to jump.
Duncan quickly sits to eat his breakfast, trying not to let his face show the revulsion that he feels. He doesn’t know what is more revolting: being in the presence of creatures that feast on human flesh, or the thought of this horrid, wrinkly, old hag having lustful thoughts about him. He tries to put both ideas out of his mind so he can gain some nourishment from the meal.
“Yes, it does have its advantages,” admits Cassandra. She looks at Duncan for a moment and says, “Mother, if you’d like, you are more than welcome to make use of our guest before we begin our journey. He is quite well endowed and appears to know how to use it. He’s a fair sight more experienced in that department than most of the young men in this part of the country.”
Gladys looks at Duncan and licks her lips. “Now, that certainly does sound appealing. A little roll in the hay might be just the thing for me.”
Duncan studiously focuses on his meal, trying with all his effort to keep the oatmeal from making a return appearance all over the table. He is grateful that his breakfast option was something rather bland, instead of a spicy omlette, or surely his stomach would have already emptied itself.
“Now wait just a minute,” says Carl. Duncan breathes a sigh of relief. Hopefully Carl will be sufficiently outraged at his wife’s behavior that he will put an end to any further plans. “Now, Gladys, think this through for a minute. You could throw your hip out again. Remember those visitors from six months ago that you decided to try out for yourself? I thought I was going to have to get you a wheelchair, and they were three times this pup’s age. If you’re feeling a tad frisky, we’ve got that barrel of cucumbers in the pantry; I’m sure I can find one in there that will suit you.”
Gladys looks crestfallen. “I suppose you’re right, dear. But just because I’m on a diet doesn’t mean I can’t drool over the menu.” She runs her hand over Duncan’s cheek and says to him, “Oh well... It’s your loss, dear. I used to have young men thank me for taking them under my spell.”
Duncan manages a half smile. Inwardly, he thinks, “And now they probably would thank you to eat them and spare them the horror of seeing you naked!”
“Are you expecting anyone this morning, Cassandra?” asks Carl, getting up and going to the window. “I think I hear a horse.”
Duncan remains at the table, finishing the oatmeal, while Cassandra and Gladys join Carl at the window. The sound of approaching horses is clear now, and it is getting louder.
“I am not expecting anyone,” Cassandra answers. “Perhaps we have an opportunity to have another item for sale. Keep an eye on our guest while I go out and assess the situation.” She stands and pauses, placing a hand on her stomach. “I really do feel unwell. Mother, perhaps our meat did not store well. Would you check it and see if we need to throw out the rest while I attend to company?” With that, Cassandra steps through the door, leaving Duncan alone with Gladys and Carl.
What does he do?
