Base Evolution Guide

in the base evolution guide i will make some lists of the major base types then list in those lists different ways that a base can evolve as it levels up:

Raft/ship:

Plant/living base:this is mostly a concept i personally have thought up it is based off a treehouse base(the base is literally made in a living tree)the idea for this is in the word growth weather it is a growing planet or flesh type or liquid metal base the main way of improving would be engulfment and level upgrades would use engulfing a certain amount of things top level up in concept if you used more,higher quality or both levels can be different for example a level 2 base upgraded from level 1 with the bare minimum various one upgraded with more amount and higher quality could be very different also whats adsorbed could also affect the nature of what happened after the upgrade

Island:island bases are not only surrounded by water(this is what the text book case is for islands)in survival it can be floating in the void,sky or even darkness skys the limit in most cases the island base has a devouring mechanism of some sort usually by devouring other islands or land of some sort can grow the island as for control either the basic island is automatically bound or you have to find an island heart or clear the island of monsters some popular power or means in these stories are:the island is sentient or can think,has a power or buff, or can move in some way to swallow other islands

Shelter/house:now shelters may seem the same as the house option but in my view the direction is different shelters allow more detailed strengthening such as the door and the wall are both strengthening directions where house bases generally upgrade all at once and doesn't usually support specific strengthening like a stronger door before the whole house is upgraded also shelter upgrades tend to encourage smaller groups while house bases tend towards larger ones also when the house upgrades it generally expands or changes to a different type of house while the shelter tends to expand less but strengthen more for example a level 5 house will be bigger in most cases while the level five shelter will be more durable

Portable Home/base:the portable base is as it sounds portable generally how it works is at the start you receive an item that acts like the capsule house from dragon ball z as it can shrink to a size for easy storage and expand to a size to live in generally the base is the same as any other in terms of upgrading with the exception of most of these types have strong space compression features so the outside size after unfolding generally doesn't change much or at all after leveling up only the size of the space after entering is changed generally

Car/base vehicle:car bases are generally an upgradable car depending on the story improvements can come from leveling the car(which can change the type and model in some cases rvs are popular at the higher levels)as well as upgrading specific features such as better tires or engines to name two base vehicles are more fantasy and many involve sci fi concepts more heavily then their car counterparts such as space storage and interior space expansion as well as while cars tend to start small and end with rvs base vehicles tend to start larger and go larger in directions such as,trucks,buses or monster cars of many types

Territory:used mostly in lord survival essentially an area of land of different sizes(each author uses different sizes at the start as well as different ways to grow said size)the center of which usually is the lords manor(can be called many things but i use manor) and radiates from that leveling the manor is usually the primary way to increase territory size generally there may be others though
