Back home and wait, but interrupted...

Francis decided to return to his home and wait for Pam to tell him that so-called "mind-control gems" had arrived. He walked to his car, got in, and started home.

Thinking about all the things his new gem would allow him to do, he didn't notice that he ran a stop sign. An intersecting car slammed on its brakes and skidded behind him, but nothing "crashed!", which was a relief. Francis drove on.

Then, he looked up and saw that a campus security car was behind him with its lights flashing. He could see that the campus cop wanted him to pull over, so he did. The cop got out of the car, and Francis could see that the security officer was a tall, raven-haired woman--athletic, but well built.

He felt for the gem in his pocket, and when he found it, he suddenly knew what to do. Would it work?
