The being decided the best way to move around was to take the shape of an average American Male in the biggest city, New York City.

That way he would not draw attention to himself by just walking around, and he could see how humans reacted to the average American male. He put the clothing of the average guy: jeans, converse sneakers, and a black t-shirt and headed out on the town.
