Auspices
AUSPICES
The Auspice of a werewolf is the link between them and Amahan Iduth; it is the phase of the moon that they change under. Each phase of the moon breeds a different type of werewolf, but they aren?t limited to any one stereotype. A Raging werewolf could still be a deep thinker, but they are prone to fits of rage when provoked. There is one Auspice for each phase of the moon, as no werewolf is limited to changing under a full moon.
If a werewolf does indeed change under the full moon, they are called Rahu, and possess the power of great Raging. A Rahu werewolf?s position is a shock trooper, wading into battle in front while the others come behind and clean up the remnants of his wake. He can also gauge what creature is the most powerful in a fight, and whether or not he and his pack mates stand a chance against it. The Rahu werewolf has the Renown power of Luna?s Purity, has affinity with brawling, intimidation, and survival, and gains gifts from the domination, strength, and full moon lists.
The Gibbous moon brings about the presence of the Cahalith werewolf, a muse, priest, and historian. These werewolves preserve the histories of werewolves and provide guidance based on tradition and history rather than logical reasoning. A pack demands a Cahalith, for what would they be fighting for if they knew nothing of their past? A Cahalith werewolf has the renown of Luna?s Glory, has an affinity for crafts, expression, and persuasion, and receives gifts from the inspiration, knowledge, and gibbous moon sets.
An arbiter and contrarian, the Elodoth werewolf is born when changed under the Half moon. Being changed under both sides of the moon, dark and light, this werewolf is aware of the power of a Rahu?s rage, the importance of a Cahalith?s knowledge, the mystic know-how of the Ithaeur, and even the mindset of the aloof Irraka. He acts as the balance and empath of a pack and is best suited to dealing with others in a more peaceful manner. However, when in a fight, an Elodoth is just as ready to shed blood as any other. They bear the renown of Luna?s Honor, practice in empathy, investigation, and politics, and accept Gifts of insight, warding, and the Half moon.
In a crescent moon, Luna presents herself, but in mystery. One can see her, but only what she allows. At this point, Luna is the Oracle, and any of her children changed under her become one as well. These werewolves know how to strike deals with the elusive denizens of the Spirit Worlds. An Ithaeur werewolf has renown for Luna?s Wisdom trains in animal ken, medicine, and occult, and gain gifts in the elements, shaping, and Crescent moon.
Just as the New Moon is not to be seen, neither is the Irraka werewolf, the one?s born under it. An Irraka is the scout of any werewolf pack, the one that stalks its prey without sounding and slays them without a commotion. An Irraka has renown for bearing Luna?s Cunning, has great aptitude in larceny, stealth, and subterfuge, and gains gifts in evasion, stealth, and the New moon.
