Aurora

Aurora was a lesbian. So, conveniently, was her partner Nightingale. They decided to have a baby, but they faced 2 dilemmas:

1.) Who would bear it? and 2.) Who would be the father?

They decided to solve their problem using The Hunt. Both partners would register for The Hunt and continue until one was pregnant. It would solve both of their problems and make them minor celebrities in the mean time.

Nightingale had survived her first Hunt a week before. She was athletic and smart, and aside from one close call with a Hunt-and-Fuck drone she hadn't had much trouble. Watching Gale's Hunt had been the most nerve wracking hour of Aurora's life. On one hand she wanted to root for her lover, but on the other she could have been spared the indignity of... but she wasn't going to think of that today.

Today was the day of her Hunt, and unless she needed to keep her eyes on the prize.
