Chapter 4 by WinstonSmith WinstonSmith

Do you attack the camp or do you make friendly contact with them? Alternatively, you could just ignore them.

Attack the camp

You didn't become the leader of this nomadic tribe by being soft. Even if the nearby camp is relatively peaceful, this is an opportunity to strengthen your position in front of the men who still question your ability.

You tell Samuel to give the order to attack the camp. "And I will join you," you add.

Samuel looks as if he is about to ****! Clearly, he hadn't expected you to participate in the raid, though whatever comment he is about to voice dies on his lips when he sees your expression. He knows that there is no dissuading you.

Later, you and Samuel are standing in front of the men who you will lead into the nearby camp. They are decked out in thick skins and hides, bows and arrows, and a few spears. Grace, your other adviser, is also present, but only to see her beau off. She shoots you a glance, clearly unimpressed by your decision to attack the camp. However, she is smart enough to not criticize you openly.

The men, on the other hand, seem excited for the raid. When you raise your spear, they raise their weapons, also, and release a testosterone-induced bellow. They want to pillage. They want to kill. They want to ****. They want to steal.

Samuel had already informed you where the nearby camp is and you guide your men in the direction he had given you.

At the pace you and your band are travelling, you should reach the camp by tomorrow morning. Perhaps you can use this time to improve your relationship with your soldiers.

This is a good time for building bonds. Or, maybe you're worried that over-familiarity could tarnish your image?
