Ascend the staircase...

You decide to ascend the grand staircase, the creaking steps echoing through the silent mansion. The flickering light behind the slightly ajar door on the hallway at the top intrigues you. As you approach, the air seems to thicken, and the temperature drops.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure materializes at the end of the hallway. The figure is tall and seems to be composed of darkness itself, its features shifting and indistinct. You feel a chill run down your spine as the figure begins to approach, its movements deliberate and ominous.
