As they leave, they run into Kyle's ex

"All right, let's roll." Kyle said. "I'll drop you off at your aunt's and you let me know if you need anything."

"Sounds dreamy..." Eric said as he stood up.

"Huh?" Kyle asked.

"Nothing." Eric replied. "Let's go."

Kyle shrugged and walked to throw out their tray, before they started walking towards the exit. For the most part, Eric was able to control his impulses and focused with tunnel-vision on making it out of the mall. But as they passed the fountain in the center of the mall, a voice rang out.

"Kyle?! Is that you?"

Kyle and Eric both turned to see Amanda Rogers, another former classmate of theirs, but also onetime member of their gaming club, mainly because she'd been dating Kyle at the time. The breakup had been pretty hard for Kyle, since Amanda had essentially traded up (the no good slut) for a more popular guy. Although the reason she gave at the time was that she felt Kyle didn't make enough time for her, electing to spend his free time with Eric more than her. She was the last person Kyle wanted to see, and as he'd soon realize, the last person Eric wanted to see too.

"Amanda..." Kyle sighed. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Just shopping, you know me. Who's this? New girlfriend?" Amanda asked, accusingly.

"No, she's..." Kyle started.

"He's had an upgrade, bitch." Eric said, stepping between Kyle and Amanda.

"Ooh, she's got a mouth, this one!" Amanda chuckled. "And she looks familiar, too. Is this one of Eric's cousins or did you two finally stop kidding yourselves and start dating?"

"I'm Erica, Eric's cousin. And for your information, even Eric would be an upgrade over you."

"You don't know me at all, so you better step off before I show you exactly who I am."

"Girls! Stop!" Kyle grabbed Eric and pulled him back. "Let's go, Erica! It was nice seeing you, Amanda."

"Likewise." Amanda said through gritted teeth as Kyle dragged Eric across the mall.

"What the hell was that?" Kyle asked.

"That's what I've been telling you about! The spell takes control of me and makes me like that! You should've heard the stuff I told Caitlin when she was helping me pick out clothes!" Eric replied.

"Okay, that's a problem. Let's get you back to your aunt's so you can relax." Kyle said.

The rest of the trip was uneventful, with Kyle leaving after watching Eric walk through the front door of the house.
