As ready as one can expect

Minnow climbed off the train and squinted at the bright sunlight that shone on her. She could hear the roar of the crowds and see the people all around cheering. Though some of them, hell, most of them weren't looking at her. She turns her head and realizes that the train was not just for her. The other carriages held the other districts contenders.

She had a sudden realization as well. As some of the contestants got off the trains and looked over he way, some started to laugh lightly and point. Minnow was confused at first and quickly realized what they were laughing at. Her partner, Bass. Every other group had good looking contestants for the most part. Even the mining district had better looking people! And here she was with bass. She gave him a shove with her elbow and hissed.

"Stand up straight you're making a damn fool of us." He straightened up at the violent shove and she glared daggers at the contestants next to them to let them know she wasn't afraid. It wasn't too hard to identify where they were from. They had advanced technologies on them. Fancy watches, scanning glasses, and LED's all over. The male grinned over at her and blew her a mocking kiss which made the crowd go wild. She just rolled her eyes and made her way off the train. Heading into the changing rooms so they could be paraded down for the peoples enjoyment.
