Arriving at the Ski Lodge

Day 0

The bus drove out of town and toward the snowcapped mountains. Several hours later the buses turned the last corner and the ski lodge came into view. It was a large lodge made mainly of wooden logs, at least three stories tall with smoke billowing from several chimneys. “Now that is a ski lodge” said Eli and turned back to Matt. Matt had fallen asleep halfway through the trip listening to music. Eli nudged him the side and Matt awoke with a started snort. “Time to wake up we are here.”

Matt eyes grew wide when he saw the ski lodge. “I have never seen a ski lodge that big before.”

“Well now you have” stated Eve looking out the window behind them. The buses pulled into the parking lot and parked side by side.

“Okay everyone out single file” called Mr. Mathers.

“I should have known better than to wear shorts to a ski lodge” said Ms. Kemp as she walked off the bus.

“Once you have your luggage we will move into the main lobby of the ski lodge and we will assign you your rooms” Mr. Mathers carried over the sound of the buses.

“Such authority” Eve smirked.

“Get a room” muttered Eli grabbing his large duffel bag.

“Working on it” she replied extending the handle on her suitcase.

Eli headed over to the other bus and grabbed Chloe’s suitcase. “I missed you” Eli leaned down and kissed Chloe on the cheek.

“It was only a few hours” Chloe smiled back at him.

“I hate the cold” Jason said rubbing his arms as he grabbed his suitcase.

“Well the lobby is calling our names” Eli stated as they headed toward the warmth of the lodge.

Everyone slowly moved into the lodge and the buses pulled away from the parking lot. “Wait a second are we stranded here?” asked Hannah as the buses continued to drive off.

“The school wouldn’t pay for the drivers to stay and apparently they need the buses since school will be in session while we are up here” answered Mr. Mathers.

“Don’t worry they will be back when it is time to go” replied Ms. Bryant “besides this lodge is ready for any kind of emergency.”

“All the research was made when we were planning on the different trip locations” added Stephanie.

“We’ll be fine” said Jackson and placed his hand on Hannah’s shoulder. Hannah gave him a reassuring smile.

“Okay time for room assignments” called out Mr. Mathers standing on a chair so everyone could see him. “Once you have your room number and key card, you can drop your luggage off and have the rest of the day to yourself. There will be some activities you can sign up for in morning at breakfast ranging from ski lessons to paint ball.”

“Paint ball?” asked Chris perking up.

“The lodge has a place in the woods for paint ball” replied Mr. Mathers.

“I wish I had a senior trip like this when I was a kid” muttered Mr. Davidson shaking his head.

“Live through the students and enjoy your time here” said Mrs. Larrson.

“Eli Masters and Matt Graham you are in room 209” called out Mr. Mathers from the center of the lobby.

“I’ll get the key cards while you kiss Chloe good-bye for the umpteenth time” Matt stated and walked over to the service desk.

“We’ll be back together as soon as we are done unpacking” Eli said rubbing Chloe’s back softly.

“I know. I think I’ll just meet you at the hot springs” she replied with a smile.

“I really like the sound of that” he smiled back at her.

“Got the key cards” Matt stated as he returned and handed one of Eli.

“Alright I’ll see you soon” Eli said and kissed Chloe softly on the lips.

“Chloe Taylor and Stephanie Walters you are in room 216” called out Mr. Mathers.

“Got the key cards” Stephanie walked over to Chloe handing her one.

“Jason Robbins and Chris Walters are in room 212,” stated Mr. Mathers.

“You two are sharing a room?” asked Chloe a bit of surprise in her voice.

“I was going to room with Don but he didn’t pass his math class,” replied Jason “so they matched Chris and me together.”

“Good luck” said Stephanie patting Jason on the shoulder.

“I’ll have you know that Jason and I get along just fine,” Chris said and handed Jason a key card.

“Eve Temple and Hannah Larson will be in room 220,” Mr. Mathers continued. Mr. Mathers continued with the room assignments until the only the chaperons remained. “If you need a chaperon we will be in the rooms 201, 215, 219, and 231. Now go and enjoy the rest of your day.”

“I got our key cards Julie” called Rachel Kemp swinging her bag over her back “let’s get unpacked and relax.”

“I’m coming” Julie Bryant called back grabbing her bag.

“Elle I got our cards” Holly called in a bubbly voice. She came over her ample breasts bouncing slightly as she walked. Chris glanced over before he started up the stairs. “Room 215.”

“So close” said Chris and followed Jason up the stairs.

“Brad you are in 219 by yourself since we have an odd number of chaperons” said Walter Mathers and handed out the last of the key cards.

“Thanks” Brad Baylor replied, grabbed his key card, and glanced over at Eve quickly.

“I’m gonna go take a nap,” said Walter.

“Guess we’ll see you at dinner then” said Elle.

“Enjoy yourselves” he replied and waved to them as he headed toward his room.

“Totally plan on it” Holly smiled.
