Chapter 4
by zaick
What does Arianna choose?
Arianna is fearful and runs
She grabbed the first thing before her and ran. It could definitely be something aggressive, and she had to be careful. She found in her hand she had her net, what she always considered a prized possession, but the rest of her things were gone. She could sneak back later, possibly, and see, but for now, she was running.
She head behind her noise. She peeked, knowing she was not actually moving that fast with her feet bare, and saw the fur of a bear. A bear! Running could have been the worst thing!
Quickly, she climbed a tree. It was the fastest, safest thing she could imagine in her panic, and she went up fast. She did not let go of the net - it was not a conscious decision, she just did not. She looked back down and saw nothing. She sighed, then heard a noise. Directly below her, the bear!
She grabbed the branch she straddled. She was high up, but the bear was just below her, reaching upward, then pushing on the tree. The tree itself was not near as sturdy as she liked. She shook and held dearly to the branch. The branch then began to bend away from the tree. Wrapped around it, she felt herself slide upside down, her legs facing the trunk, unable to retreat higher to safety. What if the bear did not leave? Of course it would not!
She heard yells. Human yells. The bear made a noise, and as she looked slightly upside down she saw the bear began to run away, followed by a group of four men and a woman, all dressed in light hiking clothes. They threw rocks and stood tall - the bear slowly padded away.
"Check it out up there." A man hit another man's shoulder. "There's someone."
Arianna's dress' back was slowly drifting upward from her sideways descent. Her wet underwear was visible to the five below her, as well as part of her upper back, and all of her legs. She was too high up to just let go, but she did not have the strength to correctly right herself without a good amount of work.
"Hey, we'll catch you!" A man said, moving under her.
Arianna at first did not think that a bad idea, but her grip was not that bad. She tried to prop herself upright instead of hanging as she was. Doing so slid her slightly further down the branch, and caused one of her straps to fall off her shoulder. She was not quite there, with her legs wrapped dearly to keep herself aloft. She could right herself, but why would she?
She remembered the state of her dress. It was thin and transparent. With only panties on and her dress half off, she did not want to reveal herself to these strangers. She could tell them to go away. She had almost righted herself on her own.
Does Arianna accept help?
