Apologize and promise not to do it again

"I'm sorry, Lin," you say as you pull her back into your arms and cuddle her gently. "I don't know what came over me." She starts crying as she nestles into your arms, and you feel bad for doing that to her.

Despite her crying, she isn't pulling away or trying to get away from your arms. You kiss the top of her head and stroke her hair gently. Lin turns her face up toward you and you gently kiss her on the lips again.

She relaxes into you and the tears stop flowing as you gently resume your earlier kissing.
