Angelo decided his apartment would be best, sticking around here with a dead man (with back up) on the way would not be wise. Yet another exclamation flashed up, the number now was up to 9. Looks like I missed out on a lot. He thought before moving to check on Robert's corpse. He wanted to at least get the baton and syringe from earlier. If things like this were likely to happen again, he would need to prepare and have at least something to fight with. It didn't take long before he found both the baton and syringe. The syringe's needle was bent. He must have damaged it when he kicked it away. "Well, the needle isn't good anymore, but the contents are." He opened his inventory, stretching his hand towards it, thinking it might work. It did when his fingers touched where the image was the syringe vanished. It blew his mind how it seemed to vanish from reality and appear in his inventory. If someone else had been there, they would have seen that syringe just vanish. He looked to that baton, using observe on it.

"Fuck..Robert had to be quite strong to hit me for 30 damage then..27 strength?" Angelo just shook his head in both amazement and disbelief. He was lucky to have survived, getting a useful weapon was just icing on the cake. He collapsed it down to 7" before putting it into his inventory as well. He had 18 slots available with those 2 items filling his inventory. He couldn't stack the baton with that syringe which made sense, they weren't the same type of item. He looked Robert's body over, Angelo hadn't really looked at Robert's face til now, it looked oddly youthful without any hair, not even eyebrows which was a little creepy, though his skin was a healthy light tan. Angelo decided to check Robert's pockets to see if he could find anything useful, a wallet with $720 in it, some credit/debit cards and I.D., he took the money, but what really surprised Angelo was what he found in Robert's back pocket. A pop-up formed in front of his vision without his opening it, it was a notification.

Angelo couldn't believe what he was seeing. If only he had the points. Wait, he had gotten a lot of xp for killing this guy. He checked his character sheet and saw he had gone up a couple levels. Looks like he was level 4 now with 20 xp til level 5.

He had 10 skill points to spend. He looked over his stats. (5 skill points per lvl)

He wanted to check something. He added 5 to Intellect and 4 to Wisdom before rechecking the book. Hmm, he couldn't use the book without direct stats to meet the requirements, but got another exclamation. He added the last point into Wisdom. Bringing his Intellect and Wisdom to the correct values. He went to try and learn the book it warned that it would be consumed upon use. He didn't really care and accepted. He felt a rush of information make its way into his mind and expanding his knowledge. He let out a breath, that information sinking in, he found that using magic was very interesting, but simple as if it was like an extension of himself.

He felt like he was on his way to bigger and better things. Looks like leveling also refilled his health bar which was good. He didn't know how to get out of this barrier which gave him only the option to look at his notifications and opened them up.

Huh, odd, but that seems to be good. He had needed to get out of here before he wasted too much time. He let out a breath and a screen popped up in front of him to exit the Illusion Barrier. The world shattered around him into a billion pieces or so before reforming back to where he had been. No one seemed to be looking his way, but it also seemed like very little time had passed. He shook his head trying not to think about it now, he headed back to his apartment. Once back at his place he let out a heavy breath. This was turning out to be a fucked up day. It hasn't even been two hours since he woke up and he already killed someone, met a beautiful woman, and had his world turned upside down. What more could this day have in store for him?
