Andrew picked up the small gleaming stone and turned it over in his hand. It was hard to the touch, but it looked like it wasn't just glowing, but that it was made of pure light. It was warm on his skin.

Too warm...

The stone was heating up quickly and began to glow brighter. He wanted to drop it to the ground, but he stood frozen, unable to move or look away from the brightness in his hand. The light expanded, enveloping Andrew's hand. It quickly moved up his arm and to his torso. Moments later, his body was glowing as brightly as the stone, lighting up the entire street.

And then he was gone. The street was empty and dark again.
