And the bar was packed.

You were at the hippest bar in your neighborhood. That was saying something, because there were a lot of bars right on your block. There was great food and most of your friends lived right there. What else could you need? If you didn't have to work, you'd probably never leave Burn Street.

Pelican was too dark, too loud and too crowded, but nobody would say so. It was full of guys with mustaches and girls with asymmetrical haircuts. You fit right in, you all did. Nobody is entirely sure why the place is called that. The current owner bought it with that name and just left it. There isn't even a stuffed pelican over the bar.

The night is kind of a blur as nights go. Your friend Kerry was bartending. That meant everyone was doing shots... lots of shots. For some reason tonight was tequila. You always made mistakes when it came to tequila.

Since New Years Eve is always such a letdown you decided to keep expectations low. You stuck to a small group of friends at one bar, no party hopping.
