An Interruption

“Well it could be worse.”

“It could be worse. It could be worse! We’re in hell, literal hell! How could it get worse?”

“Well there don’t seem to be any demons here trying to kill us and I still have this.”

You pull the Vulture’s foot from your pocket, being very careful not to point it at her.

“You have a lucky bird’s foot?! How does that help us!”

“It’s not a luck charm. It’s the foot of an Eldrich horror. It has the power to alter a creatures nature. It even works on lesser demons.”

“Syn.”

“Yes, she was a murderous temptress before I used it on her.”

“Grrr.”

“What was it you said about no demons here trying to kill us?”

You turn to see a cat-like creature. It looks like a combination of a cheetah and a saber tooth tiger. Only it’s spaded tail and glowing red feral eyes give its demonic nature away.

“Shit.”

It wiggles it’s tail end and you know it’s about to pounce. You point the Vulture’s claw at it and hope for the best.

It pounces, landing on Janice. You move quickly to pry it off. As you grab it, you realize it’s licking her.

“Good kitty?” You say as you try to let Janice stand.

“Good kitty? I’m not really a kitten and I’m in hell so am I really good? That seems like a rather suspect thing to say.”

“You can talk!”
