Chapter 2 by amanhasnoname430 amanhasnoname430

This is where the fun begins.

An Awkward Morning

(Authors Note: I will not be revealing my build within the story because I feel like it's more fun to figure it out (which shouldn't be too difficult) but I will be including a build branch off of this chapter if you absolutely MUST know. Also this story will take a bit to get up to speed but hang in there. But it'll spoil it so... I warned you)

I sat up abruptly, sweating, and panting. I walked to the bathroom across the hall and threw on the lights looking into the mirror. It was me staring back. Regular, handsome, chiseled jawline John. _Of course it's me, that was just a dream. _I thought to myself. _Nevermind that my subconscious came up with an Old God like Gothlum or whatever and pretended to give me powers that couldn't happen. _I turned off the light and walked back to my room a little disappointed.

I glanced at the clock, 5AM, and noticed my computer was still open to the essay I hadn’t even started yet. It was due in 2 hours so… no pressure. I started to write it out if only to take my mind off of the crazy dream. The words flowed from me and I was finished with it in about 30 minutes. I looked it over with a big grin on my face. _I procrastinate a lot but when it comes down to the wire I really DO kill it under pressure. _I can hear Mom downstairs getting breakfast started so I decided to beat my sister to the shower for once. I printed off my essay and put it in my bag.

Coming out of the bathroom I was confronted with a short blonde ball of anger and sleep deprivation. My sister Sarah was beautiful by any measure, standing at 5' 0" she had nice big tits and a decent enough ass. And yet if you asked anyone they would say her eyes were her best feature, blue and piercing. Despite her radiance she never had boys over, just her "witch" friends and their little spell casting parties.

Although I find them silly and childish, I certainly preferred her doing that to bringing over guys from their school. _I wonder if she hexed that dream upon me. _I noticed she looked more scared (grossed out?) than normal.

"Dude what is up with your face? You look pale are you okay?" I looked back at the mirror in the bathroom and had to agree. My skin was usually pretty white but this was a bit ****. Oh great am I getting sick? THAT is how I want to spend my summer!

"Eh, I don't know, I feel fine. Why, did you hex me or something?" I asked sarcastically but deep down was hoping for an explanation for the dream.

"Yeah right we would never waste ingredients on you. WAIT DID YOU USE ALL THE HOT WATER"

I laughed as she was apparently back to normal. "No my dearest sweet loving sister" I said holding her forehead and kissing her forehead sarcastically. She hated it when I didn't respond to her anger.

"Fuck off," she pushed passed me and slammed the bathroom door.

I walked back into my bedroom and the air felt like sand paper. It grated my ears, my eyes, and my whole chest. The parts of my covered by the towel weren't affected as much and I determined that the window needed to be closed. I shut the blinds and threw my clothes on.

Huh. That was weird. It was like the sunlight was burning me but THAT would be crazy. Plus I checked for fangs when I was in the bathroom... for no reason because vampyrism isn't real and nobody would choose it certainly.

Walking downstairs my Mom took me by surprise.

"Oh honey! What's wrong are you not feeling well? I saw your light on when I woke up did you not sleep?" She held him to her chest lovingly. Mary was a normal looking woman and nobody would call her hot or anything. She had a sweet face and long blonde hair that came down to her shoulders. She still smelled nice though and her embrace was always warm.

"No I slept fine I'm fine just... I had to finish an essay that's all" I lied. My Mom was very sweet but she was pretty overbearing sometimes. Bringing it up was no use so playing along was my only choice. Like playing dead for a grizzly bear.

"Oh I know you have that presentation today but maybe you can stay home on Friday and take a rest!" She walked back to the stove to finish the eggs. She had gotten very cool about me skipping school because I worked so hard. I was in Lacrosse, debate team, and I had a very VERY high maintenance girlfriend, Victoria, who liked to throw parties every chance she could. I should probably text her.

"I can't take Friday off, they're holding try outs for the Elite Lacrosse Camp they are doing this summer and they want me to break the newbies before they even begin." I said proudly taking a bite of bacon.

"Oh don't work them too hard!" His mom said with a mischievous grin.

"Nope. I only want the best to make it to the camp so the best make it to the team." I wasn't about to leave the Lacrosse team, sorry, MY Lacrosse team with a bunch of stragglers. "If they can make it through me, they can make it through anything."

"Oh yeah you are the toughest most heroic player at the school I forgot, shut the fuck up." Sarah had finally dragged her body downstairs to join us. She slumped at the table, clearly my gift of hot water didn't help.

My phone dinged notifying me that it was time to head to school. I got up and kissed my sister on the cheek. "Gotta go! See you later my sweet, adorable, sister" I said squeezing her cheek. She hated that too. "Bye mom!" I said kissing her on the cheek.

"Bye! Good luck on your presentation and tell Victoria I said hello!" My mom called back to me as I was opening the front door. The sun was right there. And it hit like a truck.

I instantly slammed the door shut and fell to my knees grabbing my face. It felt like I was taking a gravel shower. My mom raced to my side and my sister rolled her eyes.

"Honey are you okay?" She said concerned. I took a second to think about what was happening.

Okay that dream last night MIGHT have been real, crazy for sure, but real. If it was real and I go outside in the Southern California sun in late May, I will burn alive and that will be the end of the story before it began. If it wasn't real and I cover up my whole body, all I have to do is convince people that I am either crashing from Adderall or hungover, and that wouldn't even be the first time I would use that excuse this week. I better cover up just in case.

"Yeah, Mom I'm fine. I had a late night with that essay and I took one addy to help me out." I looked to my mother dejectedly, knowing that would trigger sympathy rather than scorn. "I'm sorry I just need to cover up a bit."

"You really need to stop doing this to yourself. You could die from this!" Her concern was overblown but that was preferable to telling her I was becoming a vampyr. I went upstairs to cover up, opting for a long coat, dark glasses, and boots to cover my ankles. I even grabbed some gloves but I put them in my jacket because covering my hands was trivial.

I returned downstairs passing my concerned and disapproving mother and my 'almost falling asleep in her eggs' sister, bade them goodbye again, and left for the day.

What's next?
