Ambush.

I looked around the barn, my eyes landing on the beams. I looked up at the rafters and down at May's body. I ran to the wall and focused on my fingers. "Come on, claws, come on. Come on out."

After a moment they came in and I gripped the beam. Shimming up it was tough work, but I was strong from my mistake and the Claws made gripping easy. I pulled myself on to the rafters and perched near May's corpse.

I slowed my breath and **** my panic into a box. After some time I heard a manly voice calling, sending tension through my spine. I pulled my knife, holding it reverse, and watched and Donnie came running into the barn. He wailed as he saw his exposed wife, and bellowed as he realized that she was gone.

I stepped from the rafters and drove the dagger into his skull.

I heard another scream, high and feminine, and looked out past the barn doors.

"Oh, fuck."
