Ambiguity

"You think you're real clever don't you?" The angel barrated him, "What you did clearly broke your oath not to harm humanity!"

Losacious sighed as he replied, "If that is so, why have you not struck me down?"

"Because... Because... Because..." Ariel answered without at all answering.

"Speak up I'm having trouble hearing your answer." Losacious stated with remarkable smugness as he knew full well the angel was just irritated he'd had his lust satiated.

"Because for some heaven knows reason, it won't let me smite you, you perverted bastard." Ariel said with a huff as he flew beside Losacious with a disdainful look on his face.

Losacious chuckled as he asked, "Now that that matter is cleared up. Are there any more villages or towns in **** need of my heroic rescuing?"

"No!" The angel shouted, "You just want to acrue more sex tributes!"

"Wow I didn't know the Light was so petty that it'd allow women and children to die just because the hero rescuing them requires payment for his services." Losacious replied with a grin.

The angel looked as though he were about to yell something in retort, when suddenly they both heard a few loud screams from far off in the distance.

Immediately on alert, and thus phasing out Ariel's annoying ranting, Losacious began running to the aid of the clearly distressed people. Just in case, you know, they were the grateful sort.

As he drew closer, however, he saw that the screams in question came from a group of men and the hope of another sex tribute died in his chest.

Darius' heart pounded in his chest as he **** his exhausted legs to propel him forward as he could practically feel the warm sticky breath of the wolf monsters chasing him.

His party of adventurers had been on their way back to the village they served from their main base of operations in the nearest town, when they'd been ambushed by dire wolves.

Their party's only woman, their healer, had been instantly targeted by the wolves and she'd had her entire body torn apart as the rest of her party was suddenly **** to run for their lives.

It wasn't that they'd never dealt with monsters before, but that these damn monsters were not the ordinary sort. They were much higher level than Darius or his party had ever faced before.

Usually such high level monsters only really hung about in the deeper parts of the forest as there was nothing for them to gain by killing the low level humans who lived at the edge of the forest.

However, it seemed something, or someone maybe, had pushed them out of their natural habitat and now they were prowling the outskirts, killing whatever they could get their paws on.

Tears began streaming down Darius' face as he heard a pained cry from nearby and he just knew that one of his friends was currently being torn apart.

But, due to the blurriness his tears caused, he tripped over an exposed root and his heavy armor made him fall to the ground with a loud thud.

All air was knocked out of his lungs as he hit the ground and fear paralyzed his body. He let out a hoarse scream as he felt a claw dig right through his armor and into his back.

Before then, something odd happened, he felt a gust of wind blow against his face, and then the pain yelps began as blood began to pain the nearby leaves red.

Pushing through the confusion and the pain, Darius rolled himself onto his back and what he saw made his heart almost stop in his chest.

A true to life spirit was tearing apart the pack of wolves with his claws.

Humans rarely ever saw spirits as the world was dominated by the two forces of Light and Dark, and the Spirits were a kind of uncomfortable inbetween unliked by either.

They were thus usually only really known to hang out at the very fringes of the habitable world, where their element or concept was most profoundly present.

Which was why Darius had no idea what to even think as the Spirit finished culling the last wolf with a blast of chaotic magic and then turned to gaze right at him.
