Altima

Deciding that any of the villages was as good as any other, Venus headed straight ahead, down the path towards Altima, wondering what might await her when she got there. The walk was actually not as long as she had expected, with the Shadow Hunter making good time. Within only a few hours, she spotted the village ahead of her, picking up her pace as she hurried ahead. There was still quite a bit of daylight left, and she might be able to do some investigating before night fell.

As she walked into Altima, she could hear a faint voice on the wind, someone speaking loudly enough to apparently be addressing a whole group. Deciding that it was worth looking into, she manuevered the streets to find the source. And, rounding a corner, she saw who it was speaking. Standing on a wagon was a woman that Venus had never seen before. Tall, lithe but strong, she clearly held herself with the confidence that only a true warrior could. The mysterious woman had long flowing black hair, so black that it contrasted in the best of ways with her creamy pale skin and her flashing green eyes.

Venus moved closer towards the crowd, slowly wriggling her way through to get a better listen.

"Citizens of Altima! The vile vampire that has plagued your town and the towns of Utabi and Reshin has lived long enough! Even now, there exists a tomb full of his undead servants not far from here, waiting until nightfall to attack your town. But I, Katherine DuBois, shall cleanse this tomb of their evil and then track down the villainous vampire himself and slay him!"

Her words were met with cheer, and Venus looked at the woman curiously. It seemed that she had competition, but she had never seen her or heard of her in the Shadow Hunters before. And there was something about the way she looked...
