Chapter 3

How did Allison end up here?
Allison got a promotion she didn’t deserve.
She’s arrived at Gillian’s house slightly late but was welcomed inside regardless. She’d had a long day at work and was looking forward to the movie night she’d been invited to by her co-worker. Coming inside, she was surprised to see another familiar face from work, Kendra, sitting on the couch.
“I didn’t realize you were coming over as well!” Allison said, smiling.
Kendra didn’t react at all, and that’s when Gillian confronted her.
“You think I don’t know what happened?” Gillian demanded, “no one’s announced it yet, but everyone already knows you got the supervisor job in the sales department!”
Allison took a wary step back, putting her hands up in front of her. “Wait, I only found out myself this afternoon-“
“That job should have been mine or Kendra’s! You never even worked in sales, what the hell can you know about supervising a sales team?”
Allison took another step away, consciously moving towards the front door. “I had no idea either of you were applying for the job,” she said. “Look, if you’re that angry about it-“
“We’ve both been with the company twice as long as you! What did you do to get the job, let the upper management gang bang you or something?”
Now Allison felt her face flare with anger, being accused of something that underhanded. “You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about,” she began, “all I did was put in my resume and interview for the job, I don’t know why-“
Gillian didn’t let Allison finish her sentence, stepping forward and shoving her. Allison turned to leave but Kendra stepped away from the couch and quickly blocked her path. Allison turned back to her aggressor, hoping she could still talk her way out of things and leave peacefully.
But she knew this wasn’t going to happen the second Gillian shouted “Grab her!” and Kendra pulled Allison’s arm’s behind her back. She began struggling to get out of Kendra’s grasp but it was no use, her co-worker had an iron grip on her. Then to her horror, Gillian began removing Allison’s clothes.
She struggled harder, trying to kick Gillian but never managing to land a decent strike. Gillian said nothing, pulling Allison’s clothes off when she could and tearing it off when she could not. Within a few minutes, Allison was stripped completely nude.
“Please, stop!” She begged.
Gillian only smiled at her, a nasty, wicked grin, then she grabbed Allison’s hair and started pulling her towards the front door.
Allison shuddered as she thought back to being thrown out of Gillian’s house like that. Finally she decided that she’d rather get home faster, and turned right.
The gas station was three blocks up the street and Allison did what she could to keep a quick pace. She kept glancing around as she walked, praying she would see anyone before they saw her. Luckily for her the streets appeared to be deserted.
She managed to cross two blocks quickly, only pausing once when she heard a car pass by on the road she’d been walking on moments ago. It didn’t turn towards her so she didn’t need to lose time trying to hide.
Soon she reached the block where the gas station was located. She was on the other side of the street, but as she predicted it was well lit. Some illumination reached across the street, but not as much as she had feared. She was also lucky that the street lights she would have to pass under didn’t also light the same area as the gas station’s light.
As she got closer she saw two cars in the parking lot. She knew the gas station would only have one employee working this late so there must be a customer inside. Allison decided to move forward, close to where the next street light would start making her more visible.
She watched the building for a minute, hoping the customer would come out and leave. From her angle she could barely see through the windows lining the front of the store but she thought she could see movement behind the reflection of the street lights.
Allison soon tired of waiting and decided to risk it. She covered the front of her body with her hands and quickly passed under the street light in a brisk jog. She felt an immediate increase in her embarrassment, knowing that she was fully visible in this exposed state and started running faster. Feeling the rough cement scratching at her bare feet, she left the glow of the street light and was back into relative darkness.
She’d watched the store the entire time she was moving and hadn’t seen any motion, nothing through the windows, the sliding door staying completely still. She looked down and realized that she wasn’t as out of sight as she had thought- her legs were slightly visible. The lights from the gas station were illuminating her more than she had expected- she felt she wouldn’t be completely lit up from this side of the street when she was further in, but more than likely anyone seeing would know she wasn’t wearing much of anything. She broke back into her jog, each step bringing her more into the light she had been trying desperately to avoid.
She was only a few yards into the encroaching lights when she saw motion inside the gas station. She began moving faster, worried that the customer was about to leave.
Allison was halfway through the lit up region of the sidewalk when the gas station door slid open and a man walked out. A part of her felt that she would have a better chance of remaining unseen if she dropped to the ground and remained completely still- motion had a tendency to draw the eye. But her instincts took over, disregarding this thought. Allison broke into a full sprint.
“Please don’t look over here, please don’t look over here,” she thought.
Her silent prayers were met with a loud whistle. Glancing over, she saw the man looking directly at her. She didn’t make any reaction, didn’t say anything, didn’t raise a hand to wave. She simply faced forward and tried to run even faster.
She ran out of the range of the gas station lights but quickly had to step under the glow of the next street light. She didn’t stop running, only intending to get back into the darkness as quick as possible. She glanced over and saw the man getting into his car. She heard the engine start as she moved back into darkness.
“Oh jeez, what if he follows me?” the thought.
Allison kept running, letting her hands move away from covering her body so she could run more efficiently. She passed under another street light and came to an intersection. It was going to take her away from where she wanted to go but it might offer a place to hide. She took a right and entered a street lined with houses.
A few yards down the road she came upon a car parked on the street. Knowing it wouldn’t be long before the man from the gas station was driving, she laid down on the ground and squeezed underneath the car. She wasn’t at all certain if he was even going to try to follow her but she’d rather be safe than sorry.
After waiting for a few minutes she heard the sound of an approaching car. She tried to peer out from under the car but her field of vision from this angle was very limited. Eventually she saw a car pass by the street on the road she just left. She couldn’t tell if it was the man from the gas station or not, only that someone had passed by. Allison decided to wait another few minutes before she moved.
While she hid underneath the car she considered her options. The quickest way home would be getting back to the road she was just on. That road was generally busier but she’d barely seen anyone. Alternatively she could keep going down this residential street, and turning left at the next intersection. The chances of being seen would be much lower, and she would likely only lose 5 or 10 minutes if she did.
She debated the matter for several moments, unsure of what to do. When she finally decided it was safe to get out from under the car, she remembered how she’d first met Gillian.
How did Allison meet Gillian?
