Alex's Crack

If there were an expert in cracks in reality, they would have pointed out that this crack was behaving strangely, fixated on the life of Alex Alexander, rather than flitting chaotically throughout creation. There are, of course, no experts on cracks in reality. Even if they were a common occurrence, not enough people are affected in a way that they are aware of the changes, and if those aware attempted to explain their situation, they would be written off as confused, as delusional, as crazy.

While a crack in a sidewalk is fixed in a place in space, a reality crack isn't restricted in the same way. It can move through time and space, redrawing the world in impossible ways, leaving everything different, but set firmly, as if they had always been that way.

Alex Alexander was arriving home, upset by the strange occurrences at the office, curious as to who had parked their silver minivan in his driveway, completely unaware that as he went, the universe was reordering itself around him.
