What happens as Ava runs her errands?

Afternoon Showers

The day moved by fast for Ava. She first got a shower, and got dressed into her clean underwear, sweatpants, and T-Shirt. Then, she went downstairs, and found a nice diner down the street to grab breakfast at. The greater part of her morning was spent outside the diner at a nearby bench, making several phone calls to both the shipping company that had lost all her items, and a couple of calls to the police about the problem. She answered any questions they asked, but there seemed to be no progress on locating the lost moving truck. It took well into the afternoon for Ava to concede that it was unlikely she could do any more to recover her items, so she would have to grab items of her own.

The trip to the department store proved very fruitful. Shampoo, soap, food, cooking utensils, personal hygiene items, and many other different specifics that would help her last until it blew over. But the total trip to gather all her items took a very long amount of time, so Ava was left with no extra time or room to grab clothes on her way back to her apartment on the bus.

Unfortunately, the skies shifted from a magical sunny blue sky to a dreary gray, and many of the people milling about the city began to retreat home or indoors as the late-foreshadowed thunderstorm barreled in on the cityscape. Ava, who hadn't known any better, happened to get caught walking the quarter mile journey from her bus stop to the apartment, with her items still overflowing in bags in her hands. It started as a light drizzle, which only mildly annoyed Ava at first. But the light drizzle quickly became a torrential downpour, water flowing from the skies in a diagonal fashion right into her backside like a hail of liquid arrows. Ava wanted to shield herself, or hurry along, but the large quantity of items in her grasp made her keep her pace slow and methodical, ensuring her journey took long enough that any hope of not getting soaked to the bone vanished very quickly.

Eventually, Ava was able to make it back to her apartment complex. She made a trail of water droplets as she walked towards the elevator, and ascended up to her floor. Finally, after her ten hour excursion outside the house, Ava arrived back in her own apartment, and almost kicked the door as she unlocked it. She placed all her items on the counter, huffing as she backed away from the pile of bags. Between the stress of still not getting the truck, shopping, and ending up completely soaked, Ava was at her mental limit for the day. Looking down at herself, she could see she was dripping water onto the floor.

What will she do?
