Alice’s eyes widened as she heard the Count say without blinking ‘’Of course your grace, Alice here will be happy to serve you.’’

Alice wanted to scream at the top of her lungs.

She wanted to run away, just dash for the ship.

Forget that this ever happened.

She wanted to go home...

Her train of thought was stopped when she heard the old king laugh maniacally. ‘’I knew she’d be up for it’’ said the king in-between spouts of laughter. Bernard tried to laugh with him for a moment before looking at Alice.
She stared into his eyes and saw… Nothing… No feelings, no guilt, no sadness, no joy, ‘’bring her up ‘ere, I wanna’ get a closer look’’ said the king and leaned forward on his throne.

‘’Well you heard him’’ said the count, grabbed Alice’s arm and pushed her towards the king. Alice staggered on to the stone steps that lead to the throne. She wanted to turn tail and run but felt the Counts presence behind her and King Tuck watching her every move.
Before she knew, Alice was standing in front of the king looking down at her feet.
‘’You can go now Benny’’ said the king and gestured for the two brothers to leave. ‘’Farewell your grace’’ said Bernard, took a bow and marched out of the throne room with Jeffry on his heels.

‘’Now, let’s get a look at you.’’ Said Tuck, Alice remained still.
‘’Are you deaf lass? Look at your king when he speaks to ‘ya!’’ he yelled.
Alice’s body trembled at the king’s gravelly voice, but she did not look up, no matter how scared she was.
The room was quiet for what seemed like hours until the king muttered, ‘’guards! Move this stubborn bitch to my chambers, I’ll be with her later, until then you stay guard at my door.’’

Two hairy hands grabbed Alice and dragged her to the king’s bed chamber.
They threw open the door and tossed Alice on to a large bed in one corner of the room. She landed with a thud on the smelly mattress. When she looked up the guards had left the room and slammed the door shut.
