A wanna be villain

You are a villain, or at least you are trying to be. Being a small time villain, though, was probably not the best move, you have been thinking. Especially when the heroes found out about you and started to use you and your schemes as training for their annoying sidekicks. They don't even give you a code or villain name! They just say, 'that idiot wanna-be villain is at it again'. You decided that you needed something, a power boost, an upgrade or anything to even the odds. So you broke into one of the many research facilities plaguing your city. Once inside, you look around for something interesting that can give you an edge, advantage, or even a proper codename. After some searching, you found what you were looking for. You found IT...but you have no idea what IT is.
