Chapter 4
by Asuna
What difficult challenges will be awaiting for our newly Queen ?
A troubling letter from a neighbouring King (Route A)
"No, you can't make the Royal levy's station their horses in the city's warehouses!" "What would the merchants do with their lucrative goods that are bringing us so much tax revenue?"
I yawn as I can't stand the boring cackle of a council meeting in progress, all they ever seem to discuss are only domestic matters. 'Ugh, yet another boring meeting.' I think to myself. 'Maybe it's about time we should look for something more interesting so everyone will be more acceptive of me ruling them'. But I know, every time I try to suggest something the topic seems to meticulously shift towards the promise I made at my coronation right after my father had died. I didn't really know what to do back then, so I decided to accept. But at least, thinking about it, I was given the ability to take charge of my own future, can't really say that if I had declined... Probably.
Suddenly the large wooden door swings wide open and a man, clearly out of breath, dressed in a traveller's cloak with the markings of some kind of foreign postal system enters the discussion room. The loud noise of the councillors arguing with eachother stops.
"A personal Letter..." he shouts under his heavy breathing, "An important, personal Letter for the Queen!"
As I look around, I notice everyone is pretty shocked at being interrupted like this, although it was probably bound to happen one way or another. I have to admit, I a am pretty shocked myself too. But in fact, I probably could be attracting dozens and dozens more of those, knowing that because of my throne I was maybe one of the most desired brides out there. Still, for me, it actually felt pretty intimate and embarrassing, since its the first letter of its kind I've received after becoming the Queen.
I wave at him, urging him to approach me, so that he can hand it over to me. And that's when I notice the large stamp from the King of Giullii (one of 4 other smaller kingdoms), news has it that his wife had recently died after giving birth to their only child. Too bad for him that it only happened to be a girl as their nation doesn't allow a female heir to become a ruler, unlike your father's kingdom.
{If Brashness >= 60}'Damn, this is probably not looking good' I think to myself as I quickly open the message in front of my councillors.{else}While looking at one of my councillors, I hurriedly open the message to see what's inside. Although I guess it probably can't be any good news.{endif}
DEAR QUEENE,
It grieves me to hear that your father has died as he was quite an honourable man, even though we might have had some differences between us in the past. Yet both our kingdoms have been able to prosper and propagate quite splendidly despite each other. However, with only a woman on your throne I believe its only the natural thing to settle our difference and prosper and propagate together, no? Either way if you disagree then, maybe we will see each other on the field of battle.
Signed, King Giovani of Giulli.

'How preposterous. Why would they think I would accept to such a proposal?' I think to myself as I hand over it over to my council, who, probably also won't like the idea of getting occupied by a foreign ruler. And I can see the head of my martial advisor fuming with madness.
Guess there finally will be a war!
Guess I will start preparing

The end of a Dynasty?
(GAME) Will Cecilia be able to rescue her dynasty? Or will she succumb to faith?
(GAME) Clichee befalls upon clichee, and now you will have to try and continue your very noble Royal ancestors' male dynasty in a place that used to be (and probably still is) too harsh on its women. How you will manage is entirely up to you!
