A simple axe

You take out your fabricator and sift through the menu. A lot of the options are corrupted and you curse. Looks like it was damaged more than you thought. The simpler schematics are undamaged due to having less data and you settle on an axe.

After you select the axe, the screen displays the required materials. You feed it the ingots needed for the blade, but pause before putting in the plastic needed for the handle. On a whim, you scan some of the alien wood with your wrist scanner.

Success! After the scan uploads into your fabricator, the wood pops up as a suitable handle material. You gather some fallen wood and feed it into the fabricator as well. You hold up the fabricator, and it spits out a brand new, shiny axe. You hold it and smile. Time to build.

Five hours later, you take a step back and look at what you've built. A lean to just big enough to accomodate you and some supplies and a bed of blue needles. You fabricate some wodden boxes to hold your supplies and place the ingots, spare ration packets, and some of your water in them. It's not much, but it's home until you build something better.

It's too late in the day to try to drag youe bed out, so you grab your blanket and curl up. The night isn't too cold and you manage to get a good night's sleep.
