A question

"I have a question for you," Emily stated. "Okay, sure," Kylie replied, a warm smile still on her face. "A-And you have to take it seriously, okay?" she continued. "Okay, sure," Kylie repeated, her expression unchanging.

Emily opened her mouth, but no words came out. She cleared her mouth, then tried once again, to no avail. A blush spread across her face as she struggled to get the words out of her mouth. "S-So, I really enjoyed t-today, and I was thinking we could maybe have more d-days like this..." Kylie could only watch with fascination as her friend uncharacteristically stammered out her request. "...a-and I think we could have m-more... oh screw it, I'm no good with stuff like this! WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME!?"

Kylie's jaw dropped, and her eyes went as wide as saucers. The two girls stared at each other, blushing, flustered, and completely out of their elements. The few seconds that passed seemed to last an eternity, until finally Kylie wrapped her arms around Emily and gave her an innocent peck on the lips. "Yes," she replied.

Emily sat in stunned silence, as though she were a computer program that had suddenly stopped working. Kylie patiently waited for her to recover, keeping her wrapped in a hug the whole time. Suddenly, she started cracking up. "Ahaha, Kylie, you're too cute, you know that?" She laughed a while longer, before wrapping the girl in a hug of her own. They exchanged several short kisses, and eventually fell asleep in each other's arms.
