A patrol is attacked

Due to the power being out you were **** to be out in front of the town hall using an old fashioned sand map. It was far less accurate than your war table would have been but it would have to serve for now. As one of your subordinates moved around the pebbles representing your forces as they reported in you got a call. "This is Hotel-4, enemy engaged. Platoon strength. Requesting assistance."

You looked down at a pad with a list of all patrol leaders and keyed in to Hotel 4's. The sergeant was obviously surrounded, the sound of battle was coming from all directions as you saw soldiers of both sides already down on the ground. A quick check to your sand map confirmed that the nearest help would be Hotel-3 but you didn't have exact data on where to send them. If the rocks were generally correct you could just tell them the heading and have them use the sound of battle to guide them in.

As it was the quick reaction **** for that patrol would need to start moving fast if they were going to get there at all. You had to make a choice.

If you were going to send back up you would have to send Hotel 3 to help hold off the enemy until reinforcements could arrive. That worked both ways however, if the enemy was just as close or closer they could do the same.

You could of course do nothing and hope the patrol could fight their way out. Even if they couldn't your losses would be limited to just that one patrol. It would probably be bad for morale to take that course of action no matter how practical.

Lastly you could send Amelia's quick reaction **** out instead of a regular one. She would have a better chance of winning if the enemy sent their own quick reaction ****. However it would be risking one of your commanders.
