A new face

Monday, 8:58 P.M.

Veronique was sitting at her desk when she saw Cat hastily running through the door. Cat immediately walked to Veronique's desk, who was just smiling at her. "Just in time!" Veronique said laughingly. "Yeah Yeah I know, little miss perfect. So, did the boss ask about me?" she asked. "Actually I did, Catharina." Cat heard from behind her, Mr. Moretti had walked up on them while signing to Veronique to be quiet.

Cat's face turned bright red as she turned around, "I'm so sorry Sir, I know I'm late but..." "Now now don't get so scared, I'm not gonna fire you for being a little late." he laughed at her. "Veronique here already told me about your little girls problem,"he said uncomfortably, "so don't worry about it. And by the way you are just in time for my announcement, so just stay put for a moment while I get everybody's attention." "Thank you boss, you're the best!" She said with a smile on her face, "And you too Veronique, thanks for having my back." she whispered. "No problem bitch," she answered "so why were you late anyway?" Cat's face immediately lit up. "OMG yes, so I was just walking from the bus-stop right, and I was on my phone while crossing the street." Veronique sighed, "Come on Cat you know you have to look out before you cross the street, one day you're gonna get hit by a car!" "Yeah Yeah, well either way. So while I was crossing a car almost hits me, and this super cute guy immediately jumps out to ask if I'm okay." "Oh my god Cat are you??" Veronique asks shocked. "I'm fiiine, relax girl," Cat responded. "So this guy jumps out and.." "Alright everybody can I get your attention for a second!" Mr Moretti yells. Immediately everybody stops with what they're doing and looks at their boss. "Thank you very much," _"Ohh I'll tell you in a minute girl." _She quickly whispers to Veronique.

"So as you all know, I have an announcement to make." Mr. Moretti started, "And before you ask, no I'm not retiring yet. I'm far too young for that anyway." he and his employees laughed. "I've gathered all of you here today to introduce you to my son. Benjamin Moretti!" And on cue the most beautiful man Veronique has ever seen stepped out from behind his father, with his arm raised and his million dollar smile. "Hey everybody, nice to meet y'all. Well, I'm Benjamin and from now on you guys will see me around a lot more. As I've just finished my traveling overseas, and I'm gonna help the old man out a bit. But don't worry I'm not as stuck up as my dad!" he said while winking. Everybody laughed at that and started to walk up to him to shake his hand.

"OMG that's him!" Cat said, "That's the guy from this morning!" "Wow, he's gooorgeous." Veronique smiled at her friend. "You have to ask him out!" at this Cat winked back at her and said "I already did girl." "He's buying me coffee after work today."

They both laughed at that and Veronique got back to work.
