Chapter 3

What does he suggest?

A lewd social media comment

"If you win, I pay you $50. If you win by more than 20, then I pay you $100." Nick said, stepping up a bit closer before continuing "If I win, I get to comment on any picture of yours on Instagram. If I win by more than 20, it can be as crude as I want it to be."

Ugh, he knew that I loved posting on social media. It was my guilty pleasure. Sure, I knew that it was a bit of a waste of time, worrying about followers and likes, but there was something about the attention that I secretly enjoyed. Granted, I didn't know that Nick was on it. Had I known that he knew of my account, I maybe would have set it as private a while ago. Anyway, there was a snowball's chance in hell that I would let Nick ruin my account for me!

"No way." I said, shaking my head. Sure the potential $100 felt good in my pocket, but there was always the chance that this perv would ruin social media for me.

"What? Did you lie of how good you were?" Nick said with bellowing a loud laugh "Fine, how about I double my wager? $100 if you win, $200 if you win by more than 20."

That...sounded pretty good. I was already on the fence and this added more incentive for me to go along with it. Sure, he might say something crude but after some reflection, I realized that this happened to me every so often anyway.

"Okay, fine. But you know, you're not going to win."

"Sure, sure. Glad that you could humor me though."

With a grin, he tossed his dart. A feeling of shock coursed through my veins as I saw that it was a triple 20.

"Oh wow, looks like you practice a little bit. It won't help you much though." I said with a grin of my own, feeling my competitive side come out a little bit. I threw my dart and smiled as I hit a triple 20.

I turned around to see Nick with a hand on his chin, as if in deep thought. He toyed with the dart on his hand, as he eyed me carefully.

"What?" was the only word that could come out of my mouth.

"Well, I was thinking. How about a double or nothing?"

"Okay, you obviously have something in mind. Spill it." I answered back coldly.

"$200 if you win, $400 if you win by more than 20 points. If I win, I get to comment like I wanted...and you have to read it while on my lap."

"You have to be kidding me, Nick! I..."

$400 was enough to a good chunk of my bills this month. With Henry out of work, things were pretty rough with my finances. Sure, Nick got a triple 20 but that had to be luck...right?

Should I accept the new wager...?
